Oakland Cloud Dusters

About Us

The Oakland Cloud Dusters (OCD) was chartered in 1937 as a model airplane club under the Constitution and Bylaws of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). In addition, the OCD encourages membership in the National Free Flight Society (NFFS) and other free-flight model organizations.

The purpose of the Oakland Cloud Dusters is to provide an organization where members can pursue their interest in free-flying aircraft in the company of others who share a similar interest and passion by exchanging experiences and information, encouraging participation in free flight aircraft building and flying (especially among young people), competing at local, national and international levels, and recognizing contributions to the development and improvement of free-flying aircraft.

While most members reside in California's San Francisco Bay Area, our membership extends across the country and around the world.

AMA Charter Number 138.
